Birthday Party! 69/365

Happy 30th Birthday Kev!

I guess everyone felt bad for Kevin that we don’t have anything BIG planned for his 30th Birthday so we had a house full on Tuesday night.  But honestly, isn’t it always the nicest when people celebrate your birthday on your birthday!  It was nice to have guests and after I put the house back into a reasonable order it wasn’t too bad!

Jeremy was being a stinker, staying out of bed as long as he could!  Here he is playing with Grandma & Grandpa!

apprentice

Noun-someone who works for a skilled person for a fixed period in order to learn his or her trade

disclaimer:  we know that we probably shouldn’t teach the kids to stand on the back of the couch, but honestly-how could we stop them…they are just trying to help & they are SO stinkin’ cute!

Dining-on a whole new level! 65/365

In : Uncategorized, Posted by on Mar.03, 2009

While the dining room is being painted we are pretty relaxed at meal time.  Fries and chicken nuggets on a week night!?  The kids were SO thrilled!  Plus we “got” to eat in the living room!  The coffee table needs replacing so it’s out of the room too…so it’s on your knees over the “poof”.  The poof is staying in the new rooms so it is covered in an apron so the ketchup won’t stain!

Only 6 weeks to go!

And he’s so proud of himself!

Oh well, it’s just dirt, right?  He had a shower & I washed all this clothes and everything is good again!  He was having SO much fun outside I asked him to come in 2 or 3 times and he didn’t want to!

Boys (insert eyeroll here)

A quick snap! 63/365

I was leaning against the wash machine to take a picture of the boys, when I leaned forward it made a loud “thunder” noise…apparently it scared them!

I know, I know…this is a bit oof  (out of focus) & there is some motion blur…but it’s definitaly a keeper!

Menu Monday & More! 61/365

I went to Aylmer today to visit Opa…he looked good this morning.  He smiled  the whole time we were there!  He loved watching Jeremy play on his chair: climb up and down & have a snack!  I asked if I could take a picture, he said “SURE, just wheel me where you want me!”…but I could tell he was tired from sitting so we did it quick and I helped him back onto his bed.  It’s his favorite place to be!

On my way home I stopped at No Frills to grab some more of the dollar daze items (my fridge & cupboards are overflowing!)…apples  & bread are top savings for us as we eat so much of them!  I decided to make something with all these apples!

Apple Coffee Cake

1 1/3 cup flour

3/4 cup sugar

3 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 cup butter

1 egg

3/4 cup milk

1 tsp vallina extract

2 apples, peeled & thinly sliced

Combine flour, sugar, poweder & salt.  Cut in butter until crumbly.  Make a well in the centre.  Beat an egg until frothy, mix in milk & vanilla.  Pour into well.  Stir just enough to moisten.  Pour into an 8×8 greased pan.  Push apples into batter.

Mix together

1/3 cup br sugar

1/2 tsp cinnamon

crumble overtop

Bake 350 40-50 mins until the sides shrink in.

Weekly challenge! 60/365

In : Uncategorized, Posted by on Mar.03, 2009

I’m trying hard to stay on top of the weekly challenges as well as my 365…the 365 is time consuming, but it’s working out great…the weekly is tough…here is week 7, I will admit being just a couple weeks behind, but I do ‘hope’ to catch up this week!

The goal is for 5 different angels, but I think 4 works great!
