I’ve been trying to teach Eric to ride his bike…Frustrated I quit, gave up whatever you want to call it!

Today he came to me and said “I think I can ride my bike now, can we go outside and try?”…REALLY?

Yeah, so he’s a pro…he can do a pretty good job now!  I’m so proud of him!!

This was fun!  I went out with “A”!  She would like to learn more about photography as she is considering taking a course in it when she goes to College!  So we went out for an evening and talked about some aspects of photography such as composition!

She was a great model too!  Thanks for coming out for the evening “A”.  The pictures I took will be ready shortly!

Isn’t she beautiful?!

Menu Monday! 236/365

WOW, what a morning!  28 kids, 12 adults…a cute ‘little’ play date/party for Jer’s birthday!  The more the merrier with play dates, really…it’s such a nice time..for the most part the kids play together and the mom’s have a chance to catch up!  I was hoping for some HOT weather so we could use the baby pool and sprinkler…but now that I think about it that might have been a bit chaotic!

Thank you all for coming…it was a pleasure!

On to the recipe!  A couple weeks ago I said I would share with you a cake recipe…so here it is!  It is ‘from scratch’…but honestly, it’s as easy as anything from the box!!!

Chocolate Cake Mix!

1 3/4 cup flour

2 cups sugar

3/4 cup cocoa

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

2 eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 cup oil

2 tsp vanilla

*1 cup boiling water

Combine all the dry ingredients.  Add remaining ingredients except boiling water.  Beat on Med for 2 min.  STIR (to avoid a burning risk) in boiling water.  Pour into greased pans.

Bake 350F for 30-35mins for a layer pan

35-40 for a 9×13

12-13 mins for muffin tin (makes approx 30)

It is great topped with Nurti whip and choc pudding between layers, crispy crunch on top.  Regular icing or with out the extra calories!!

Happy Birthday, Baby….235/365

In : Uncategorized, Posted by dawn on Aug.08, 2009

My baby, 2 years old!

This little guy stole my heart from the moment he was born!

He is sweet as pie, but he does have red hair and some of the temperament that is commonly associated with that!  Great big eyes and a precious smile that light up a room!

Happy Happy Birthday Jeremy…we’re praying for many more wonderfully fantastic years with you!!!

Fun Times! 234/365

In : Uncategorized, Posted by dawn on Aug.08, 2009

We went out with the kids for the afternoon!  It was for Jeremys birthday celebration.  We are a bit lame on the gift giving for a couple reasons (we don’t really want to move any thing more than we need to, and he needs nothing since he has an older brother and older cousins who kindly pass along hand me downs!)  So, we took them (Eric, Jeremy and Grace) bowling and then to McDonalds (with a play centre).  It was very fun and nice to go out and do something!  Too bad the bowling lanes were only 10 pin..the balls were pretty heavy for the ‘double J” but it was still fun!!

What fun!

Baby “C” was a such a good boy for pictures.  I loved using my new prop, it is so fun!!

We also captured some pictures of all 4 kids together.  3 boys under 3 and an older sister…

Thanks for the fun morning, “J” it was great to catch up again!

HELP! 232/365

In : Uncategorized, Posted by dawn on Aug.08, 2009

Today I picked up my helper!  It’s wonderful having Grace around…she entertains the boys for hours!!!
We also had her lend a hand feeding the calves!  She did WONDERFUL!  Fed a bottle in the pouring rain!  When I asked if the rain was bothering her she said “not really, I was too busy to notice!”  So cute…she was also quite concerned as to where the kittens could find shelter!
