It’s been a bit hectic over here…a free day didn’t really end up being “free” but it was better than having appointment after appointment!!

Potato Salad!!

Once again, I have no measurments…but here is what I do!

Peel, cube and boil potato’s until tender.

Boil eggs until hard boiled (8 mins after water returns to a boil), peel and cube.

Chop some fresh veggies (green & red pepper, onion, carrots)

Place all potato’s (after they have cooled), eggs and veggies in a large bowl.  Stir.

Add mayo with a touch of mustard or salad dressing (ranch works good)

Add seasoning salt & salt and pepper.

Salad’s ready…it has to be cold when you serve it though…so it’s a make ahead-which is very handy at 5:30 when you’re in a rush!!!

Now, I top this with cheese and pickles on my plate.  Kev thinks this is very odd, but I love it!

I’ve never met anyone so interested in bugs!  Certainly not me or my kids.  But I couldn’t resist photo’ing this little guy.  It’s the abandoned shell of a Cicada Bug.

I love meeting with clients.

I love capturing memories for people.

I love the ‘rules’ of photography.

It’s hard to say what is the ‘best part’!  That being said, one of my favorite aspects of any session is seeing how families interact together!

This family was fun, relaxed, artistic and respectful.  We had “C” playing guitar for us which made some wonderful background music and a very personal and unique picture.

Thank you for inviting me and my camera to your house, it’s absolutely gorgeous!

It was fun…Thank you to the entire group for smiling, keeping your eyes open, looking at me, and huddling together-working with me to capture these pictures!

Here’s an update as to where we’re at with the farm!

It’s crazy!!!  Lets just say that!

It is going to happen!  It is still very hard to believe…lot’s of emotion with the changes!  Meetings galore and a tonne of learning…it’s coming together.  We’re hoping to be fulltime at the farm in Oct, moving date isn’t set but it will (hopefully) be early Feburary. Quota paperwork for the transfer is filled in and sent off…Like I said, it’s hard to believe!!!

Anyway, here is a picture of Kev cutting his hay!!!  We drove out to the field to say goodbye/good night…

My sister came to visit today..she needed a babysitter so she could have lunch with her friend!  Despite the fact that Cal thinks having lunch with your friend would be super boring I encourage you all to take a break from what ever you are doing and call a close friend and make a lunch date!!

Her visit today meant that we could talk (while the boys entertained eachother) and that, for me, was refreshing.  Even if nothing is terribly wrong, on the brink of disaster or a cause for concern, sometimes it’s important to just chat with friends (or sisters, for that matter).

Refreshing comes in more than one form!  At this time of year with fresh berries galore it’s nice to have fruit and yogurt.  A healthy, cool and refreshing snack.  But today I mixed it up a bit!  Here’s the smoothies I made for the boys (my recipe for the week)

yogurt, blueberries, banana, orange juice, ice

Mix all ingredients together in the blender until smooth and a nice consistency!  Enjoy!!

I forgot that it’s Monday…no recipe today, maybe later on this week!
