Pot luck! 260/365

In : Uncategorized, Posted by on Sep.09, 2009

I made this dish for a pot luck barbeque at Eric’s School (John Knox Christian School)!

This recipe from someone I worked with at TD!  It is rarely made around our house because Kevin doesn’t like cream cheese!

Apple Bavarian:

1/2 cup butter

1/3 cup sugar

1/4 tsp vanilla

1 cup flour

Cream and press onto a 9″ spring form pan

8 oz cream cheese

1/4 cup sugar

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla

Mix well and place on top of crumbs

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 tsp cinnamon

4+ apples evenly sliced

Toss and place on top

Sprinkle with 1/2 cup slivered almonds (which I avoided because of nut allergies)

Bake 450 10 minutes

then 400 for 25mins

I always place a baking sheet under it to catch the drippings!

Enjoy..

{blushing because the picture is terrible…we were running out the door to get there on time, kids were already loaded in the van…when I said “wait I need a picture” hubby didn’t look too impressed!}

under cabinet lighting! 259/365

In : Uncategorized, Posted by on Sep.09, 2009

I thought I would drag out the tripod and do a long exposure shot to show the under cabinet lighting!  I love it so much…It looks great, esp in the evening…but it also fills all the dark corners with so much light, the counter tops now have more ‘usable’ space!!

A diverse session! 258/365

In : Uncategorized, Posted by on Sep.09, 2009

I really didn’t know which picture to use for my blog!

There was so many that I wanted to share!

Upon arrival ‘T’ had paint in her hair…so mom & dad did a quick haircut to start the night out…then we moved on to family pictures…then individuals of the kids…while I was working with “T” I turned around and snapped a picture of “J” watering the trees!  Then onto the fun and more creative individuals…we put “T” into the suitcase with some undergarments, next “N” took a piglet out of the barn and we took some pictures of it with “T”-to complete this series! (The last two kids are her siblings!) We finished with some fun stuff of mom & dad…on the tractor and out with the donkeys!

Thank you so much for inviting me to the farm for your family session!  I had a great time!

A couple weeks late…just like the mechanics auto work, or the carpenters home repairs!

I took Jer out to the train tracks to try and capture a new ‘portrait’ for our walls!  This was my favorite ‘catch’ of the day!  Jer & Daddy:

lunch ideas?! 251/365

In : Uncategorized, Posted by on Sep.09, 2009

You might have noticed that I missed Menu Monday this week.  I actually wanted to post a question:
What types of snacks or sandwiches do you pack in the kids lunch?

Leave an idea or two and you might just receive something special from A Shot Of Life!!  (bribery works with my kids…it might work with my friends, family & clients too, right?)
