Menu Day! 320/365

In : Uncategorized, Posted by on Nov.11, 2009

This recipe is inspired by a dish that Lisa ordered on our shopping trip!

Bruschetta, Bacon, Alfredo Penne!

Not quite a recipe…

Alfredo Sauce

Bacon Bits

Bruschetta Mix

Penne Noodles

(you can add chicken too)

I prepared the alfredo sauce as instructed and added bacon bits to the sauce.  Boiled the penne noodles until tender.  Then I mixed together the sauce & pasta (took this out for the kids because they don’t like tomatoes!  Should have done the same for Kev, apparently he doesn’t like brushetta).  I have bowls that are oven safe so I put the penne in the oven safe bowls and topped it with brucshetta and placed it in the oven until it was warm/toasty on top!

I thought this was DELICIOUS…but no one else here shared my passion!

Try it & let me know what you think!

Breaking the rules! 317/365

When I made a commitment to my 365 blog I made a promise to myself to chose ONE picture per day.  I thought it would be overwhelming to be doing several pictures per post and then the project my become too much and BORING…

Well, today I have an overload!

First off is one year old “J”…he certainly loves to smile and loves the outdoors!  This was by far the easiest one year old I have ever photographed!  Look at these smiles!

This is a perfect fall storyboard!

Then I met up with some handsome teens!  “S” & “G” were on their best behavior with out bringing out the life savers…

I love working with teens.  The majority of work I do is with young families, they tend to have pictures taken more often.  But the teen (and beyond) years are just as important.  I can see more and more people steering away from traditional ‘school’ portraits for their wall and using more ‘realistic’, real life pictures such as these:

Thank you to both families for being patient with me as we needed to reschedule due to weather and a family situation!  It was great meeting up with each of you…your sessions will be posted shortly!

Deep in thought! 316/365

The kids have been making the most out of these gorgeous fall days!  E’s just hanging out with his stick.  It is a special stick…one end he uses to cut the grass the other is for trimming the edges (weed eater)…quite the imagination!  I just love it!  He can play for hours making this stuff up!

I really hoping he’s this anxious to work in his teenage years!

Menu (not) Monday! 315/365

Pizza Crust!!!

1 cup warm water

1 tsp sugar

1 tbsp (or package) yeast

1 tsp salt

1/4 cup cooking oil

2 3/4 cup flour

Add sugar to water in a large bowl, sprinkle yeast over top.  Give 1 stir and let soak for 10 min.  Add salt, oil and all but 1/4 cup flour, mix.  Knead wit the additional flour 100 times (or use modern equipment).  Return to a greased bowl.  Cover and let rise until doubled.  With floured hands divide into 2 balls.  Push out on pizza trays lightly coated with shortening.  Bake 10mins (or so) until very LIGHT goldend brown, top with sauce, cheese and your choice of toppings and bake until cheese is melted!

Our family has been making this recipe for a VERY long time!  It used to be a Friday night tradition!  It is very yummy and easy to make (I used to do it when I was in grade 8/9, so it must be easy!)

My sister claimed it as her’s a long time ago as the J&P&L Pizza Recipe (that’s for Janine, Patsy & Lisa)…I think of that almost everytime I make it! Thanks for sharing it girls!
