Moving that is!

Our new house is empty and we are working on repainting and adding carpet to a couple of rooms that were rarely used in the past! We just want to warm up the toy room and sitting room with new flooring~and paint so that our furniture and wall decor matches our home! The paint is really helping us feel like it’s our home too! So very glad we decided to do it!
I know, I know…I said I wasn’t doing ANYTHING to the house…and we weren’t but…well, just BUT…we decided to do it and I couldn’t be happier that we did!!!
This is our new house! Well, it’s older than our current home, but it’s new to us!!
OUTSIDE:
This is our property all 143 acres plus house, barns, milking equipment, tractors, cows and so much much more!!!!

Inside our home (before painting began):
And halfway through painting:
Improvising while our ‘luxuries’ are not available…like bbq flippers (thx Herb) and a kitchen table (or anything to sit on actually)

A SERIOUSLY HUGE thank you to everyone who has offered to help, everyone has helped or those planning to move with us this weekend! We really truly appreciate all the extra hands!!!

While I have not made a commitment to posting a picture EVERY day, I still do hope to pick up the camera often and this blog is a great way to share some of my stories.
I do plan to share some sneak peaks from my sessions here (unfortunately my Saturday session had to cancel due to head colds)! Although, the sessions may be slow for a while since I am not planning to book too much while we move and settle in our new home!
Anyway, here are some pictures from around our home this past week!
We are going to miss our neighbors dearly! This is Al snow blowing our driveway for us! He has done this every year since we moved in and we are so thankful for the help! He also has taught Eric how to skate and he fills in babysitting when needed. God has blessed us with a ‘grandparent’ next door and we are so thankful for that!

One less dish to pack:

And a greeting from the boys:

With many mixed emotions I am DONE! A relief and a disappointment all at the same time. My blog encouraged me to pick up my camera each day, and despite missing 2 days I am quite proud that I completed this ‘resolution’!
You can continue to follow my blog as I will be posting ’sneak peaks’ from sessions, some random shares for you to view as well as business updates. I still have a lot to say (believe it or not) so I’m confident I will find something to blog about!!!
What a year 2009 has been!! I started my photography business and had a great year. Meeting new clients was wonderful, rewarding and exciting! Word of Mouth has been going well as I do not do any ‘formal’ advertising! THANK YOU for the kind words you have shared with someone you know!!
I do have some goals for 2010 (‘oh TEN) and one of the BIG ones is to spend less time on my computer chair! Adding the farm to our family has provided me with several more ‘tasks’ around home so this ‘resolution’ is a requirement! Plus, my kids would enjoy seeing my face, instead of just the back of my hair!
My plan? Well, that’s the EXCITING part for you!! This year I will be selling digital images! WOW, that’s a big change for me, and although I am having a bit of trouble getting used to the idea I do believe it is the right thing to do! This is something that clients are asking for…so I am going to do it. Ordering, sorting and running around at the post office takes up a good deal of time so I figure this will fit right into my ‘less time on the computer’ resolution! With this change I am removing 4×6 and wallets from my price list.
These digital files are for 8×12’s and smaller. I plan to still sell 5×7’s and larger, so you have choices!! This is the FAVORITE part of my job…designing something for your home and seeing which images you love!! I still have my studio samples and products that I truly believe in and my clients have been VERY happy with. I will be designing cards and storyboards, the price is only increasing a little for the storyboards. The remaining prices on my list the same as 2009!
So, CHEERS to 2010~ I hope to see as many new faces as familiar ones through my camera lens!!

What a way to end the year! Two sessions back to back!
A chilly hour outdoors, but so worth while! Catching some pictures before their son went back home, this family was alot of fun to work with!
Again, there were some cool props we were able to incorporate (I’d like to see a ‘big box store’ use the wood pile or the ol’ Ford in the family pictures)!
Thanks for asking me back, ‘K’! It was nice to meet the rest of your family! Hope to you see you and ‘C’ in the near future! Your session will be posted shortly!

Awe..so sweet…a precious little Christmas bundle!
Baby ‘A’ was very good at our session! Easy going relaxed first time parents (even with the diaper-less ‘accident’), and a nice cozy home full of meaningful props and a sweet newborn-what more could a photographer ask for!?
The ’suitcase’ in this photo is one that baby ‘A’s” great Grandmother used while moving to Canada…the original writing is still on the top (we have some pictures of that too, you will have to ask her mom & dad for the gallery password if you would like to view them!)…
Meaningful props like this case are exactly why I love my job! And ask Mom how nice it was not to have to pack everything up and leave the house to have pictures done!
It was a pleasure chatting with you “M” after all these years! You both will be great parents! Enjoy your special gift!!!

Man, Oh Man…I’m missing the natural light…outdoor sessions…all of it!
Although, it is nice to have a fresh coat of snow on the ground-everything looks clean again & it makes a great backdrop too!
