A Shot of Life

While the video crew was here they offered to shoot a couple family pictures for us!  I was thrilled since I’m rarely on the other side of the lens with my boys!

Here are a couple:

A while ago, Farm Credit Canada asked Kevin and I to be part of a promotional DVD for their Ag Expert Software!  At the time we were like “Oh, yeah no problem”…All the while thinking that it probably wouldn’t happen!

WELL, it did happen…A little nerve racking but certainly fun and an exciting little adventure for our family!

These are just snapshots of our day with the crew…I was in a tonne of the footage since I’m the one who uses the program they were asking questions about so I didn’t have much of a chance to snap while they were working!

Arrival~I heard a little tap on the glass, look outside and see this:

I’m not sure Kevin loved the idea of a film crew….SECONDS later:

This is where we shot the ‘formal’ part of the interview…they asked me about 10 questions I had to answer them…and if I could include the words Ag Expert or Farm Credit that would be wonderful!

The guys from the video crew grabbed my camera…this is not ‘photoshopped’:

And then~well, if we could change into barn clothes and they would grab some random footage while we did chores?!

I did NOT see that coming…

They captured about 1hr of random footage…our family feeding the cows, cleaning and scraping and then some of me milking!

Lots of the boys playing and ‘working’ and so on!

I can not wait to see the final product!!!

What a sweet baby girl!  9 day old perfection!  We took out a bunch of props for this session, it’s soo sweet!

With mixed emotions I sent my little eyed blond on the bus! His driver greeted us with a huge SMILE! WOW, a nice way to start the morning (an early morning, 7:15 pick up)!

And I sit at home waiting for this ‘cute’ face to return home!

And now I turn him over for another year of learning to John Knox Christian School!!  A great school, with amazing teachers…awesome support staff and well, just an wonderful community!  I love that he spends his day learning about God in every aspect of life AND he has great role models!

Thanks to the teachers, principal and organizers on various committees for pulling off a great first day!

YUMM-O!

Homemade Ice Cream!!!  It is seriously so delish!

A couple of weeks ago I received an ice cream maker!  I wasn’t sure how often we would use it..or how creative you can become with one!  WOW WOW WOW …I have so much ice cream to make and SO little time!  We have had a batch every night for the last couple days…and I’m trying to dream up how I can stop at a variety store tomorrow to pick up some kind of chocolate bar to crush in it!!

When Kevin and I first started dating…his Sister and brother in law would make home made ice cream…they always served it at birthday parties and occasions!  So this new obsession is bringing back lots of memories!!!

For those interested here is the ‘how to’:

The Ingredients: (eggs, who knew? Eric was MIGHTY surprised by this..and has been calling this ‘eggs cream’ as a result!

Pour everything into this frozen ‘bowl’:

Put the lid on and turn it on:

Tonight we enjoyed Smartie…and I plan to make something else fun for the weekend!!

This is a pretty random post…our life right now is pretty random so I guess it is a fair portrayal of our life!

We replaced our lawn mower today.  A bit extreme in my opinion, but we needed to do something and with about 1 acre of grass to cut we needed to do something bigger!  I broke the lawn mower yesterday for about the 1 millionth time this summer and I knew one day Kev would say “I AM NOT FIXING IT AGAIN”…so off he went to town…he came home with this!!!

I think this was supposed to be a thumbs UP, but Jer decided to go with #1!

I told you this was random, right?

These jeans were in the laundry…I took them out of the dryer…Did I really WASTE laundry soap, energy and time on this??????

Anyone want to sew a button for me? I have one that needs to go on…This is Kevin’s job….I guess his Mom taught him well…If he can sort out the thread I would love it if he fixed Erics shorts!

These little guys are pretty pesky at our place right now…even mid day you can be attacked! ‘buggers’

I must attract animals!

So many recent family sessions have brought out different animals!

Goats, chickens, dogs, kittens…you name it!  That’s all part of the CUSTOM photography experience!  So unique, so fun!!

Two 80th Birthdays and a big anniversary definitely call for a big celebration!

This cute little family is expecting a new arrival anytime!!  We were all happy to have the maternity pictures completed so that baby is free to arrive!!
