I, Dawn Streutker, am the sole photographer and owner of A Shot of Life photography. A Shot of Life is a personalized photography business, capturing meaningful moments in people’s lives through a camera lens. I am a mother of two young children, I can see how pictures trigger memories of moments that pass by too quickly. You can find me with my camera in Woodstock, London, Kitchener and Aylmer meeting clients on location. My husband Kevin, two boys (5 & 3) and I reside on a dairy farm in Embro, Ontario.

I strive for natural photographs. No heavy post processing, no crazy props. As much as possible I use natural light and the surroundings on location. I would call my style a posed candid. Candid photographs can be wonderful, but lets face it, somethings that we do in everyday life are not flattering on a flat image. Posing or giving direction to enhance my subject is key to making everyone look great in the photograph. Natural photographs are timeless and great artwork for your walls!
I enjoy meeting new clients. One aspect of this business that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed is seeing how families interact and work together. Each and every family is unique. The bonds they share, their history. That is what I strive to capture with my camera!

I volunteer!
In 2010 I was a judge on the panel for Literacy Clicks a contest that is working to broaden the horizons of the traditional word ‘literacy’! Click HERE for more information!
Currently I am working with John Knox Christian School to lead a Photography Elective. This is a 6 week program on Tuesday afternoon for the students in grades 4-8 to learn trades or crafts beyond the typical math, English and history!
Also I have donated to several auctions and bazaars for various causes!
